God, the One and Only

The names Of Allah
God, the One and Only is an attribute of God’s attributes, which means the owner and the one who has the disposition right of what ever he has which we know and we don’t know. When a man owned something we call him owner, but his possessions is limited by the limit of what he owned of things. And the name owner can be used for the man, but it is always added, like when we say the king (has the dominion of a country) of Jordan.

This is about the man’s authority , but for The Right authority is completely different, because He –be He blessed- not an owner only but He is the one who owns every thing and owns the owners of these things. If the man had a land then he will be a landlord, but The Right –to whom belongs might and majesty- is the owner because He owns this man and the land of this man because He is The Creator of both of them and He is The Creator of the whole world. When some one buy something then he will the owner of this thing, so then with greater reason that The Creator’s ownership of what He created is clearer and more evident.
And because the domination of God –be He blessed- contains the concept of simple ownership of something, which is drawn from the people’s ownership of something, but God’s domination is a real one. God –be He blessed- owns creatures and no one is sharing with Him this domination, in this He said in His Holy Quraan: “Knowest thou not that to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth?” (AL-BAQARAH – VERSE 107) And He –to whom belongs might & majesty- said: “To Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and Allah hath power over all things” (AALI-IMRAAN – VERSE 189) And He –be He blessed- said: “and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)” (AL-MAAIEDAH – VERSE 18)
And He –be He blessed- said: “to Allah doth belong the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is therein” (AL-MAAIEDAH – VERSE 120)
God asked His prophets –peace be upon them- to inform people of this dominion and in fact all prophets were calling people to believe in God’s –The Right, to whom belongs might & majesty- domination of His world (earth) and they called them to believe in the pure monotheism belief, and He asked our prophet –peace be upon him- to inform people that He –to whom belongs might and majesty- is the owner whom belong to Him the dominion of the heavens and the earth.
So He said: “Say: “O men! I am sent unto you all, as the Messenger of Allah, to whom belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth: there is no god but He: it is He that giveth both life and death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger. The unlettered prophet, who believeth in Allah and His words: follow him that (so) ye may be guided” (AL-AARAAF – VERSE 158)
And some of His dominion’s signs for His world, that He has the authority to change this world or some of it with a new creation that He said: “O ye men! It is ye that have need of Allah: but Allah is the One Free of all wants, worthy of all praise (15) If He so pleased, He could blot you out and bring in a New Creation (16) Nor is that (at all) difficult for Allah (17) “ (FAATIR – VERSES 15,16,17)
Also He has the authority to add to His world what it is not there as He said: “Praise be to Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, who made the angels Messengers with wings-two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things” (FAATIR- VERSE 1)
Also some of these effects that He –to whom belongs might & majesty- that He gives life to whom He wants and He causes the death to whom He wants whenever He wants, without sharing from any body. And we knew about the man who argued with Abraham –peace be upon him- in His God, that God gave him power and dominion, then he thoughts – because of his ignorance- that he owned the ability of giving life and death, that if he ordered to kill some one and then he forgive him that means he gave him the life, and if he carry out the judgment then he killed him. Abraham -peace be on him- could tell him: your forgiveness for this man after deciding to kill him is not giving life, because giving life must be from nonexistence or from death, and you didn’t make either this or that, and if we assume that you forgave him after decided to kill him then you didn’t give him the life, but you keep him alive that he had the life before your decision of forgiving him, and about your allegation that you carry out the judgment then you killed him, actually it is a wrong (incorrect) understanding; because actually you carried out God’s will to kill him, and you didn’t kill him by your will and ability. But Abraham –peace be upon him- didn’t use this kind of argument (disputation), because there are many proofs (arguments) to surmounting the argumentative unbelievers who are argument useless. But he choose a simple evidence, that this man couldn’t find an answer or a defensive way, and in this, God –to whom belongs might & majesty- said: “Hast thou not turned thy thought to one who disputed with Abraham about his Lord, because Allah had granted him power? Abraham said: “My Lord is He who giveth life and death” He said: “I give life and death” said Abraham: “But it is Allah that causeth the sun to rise from the East: do thou then cause it to rise from the West.” Thus was he confounded who (in arrogance) rejected Faith? Nor doth Allah give guidance to a people unjust” (AL- BAQARAH – VERSE 258) And one of these evidences that He –be He blessed- knows everything about His world, knows every small and big and in that He said: “my Lord comprehendeth in His knowledge all things. Will ye not (yourselves be admonished?” (AL-ANAAM – VERSE 80)
And He said: “and no female conceives, or lays down (her lead), but with His knowledge” (FAATIR – VERSE 11)
And He said: “that ye may know that Allah hath knowledge of what is in the heavens and on earth and that Allah is well acquainted with all things” (AL-MAAIEDAH – VERSE 97)
And He –to whom belongs might and majesty- said: “ Say: My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth” (AL-ANBIYAA – VERSE 4)
And He –be He blessed- said: “say: The (Quraan) was sent down by Him who knows the secret (that is) in the heavens and the earth” (AL-FURQAAN – VERSE 6)
And some of His power (dominion) marks that everything that is happened lately in the world, - which is the invisible to us – is happened by His knowledge and His will, and in that He said: “Say: O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of all that is hidden and open” (AL-ZUMAR – VERSE 46)
And He said: “then you will truly overtake you, then will ye be sent back to the knower of things secret and open: and He will tell you things that ye did” (AL-JUMAA – VERSE 8)
His knowledge doesn’t stop on this only, but He knows what is engage in people’s mind, and what do they think of, and in this He said: “and knows what ye hide and what ye reveal” (AL-NAMIL- VERSE 25)
And some of these signs that is every thing is return (resort) to Him that as the beginning was from him then the end is to Him, as He –to whom belongs might and majesty- said: “To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; and all affairs go back to Allah” (AL-HADEED – VERSE 5)
He is the Master of the Day of Judgment, as He said: “Praise be to Allah, the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds (2) Most Gracious, Most Merciful (3) Master of the Day of Judgment (4)” (AL FAATIHA – VERSES 2,3,4)
And He said: “whose will be the Dominion that Day? That of Allah, the one, the overpowering!” (GHAAFIR – VERSE 16)
And He – be He blessed- is solitary (isolated) with ownership (power), without any partner who will dispute with Him for His domination, divinity and godhood in the present life and in the afterworld as He –to whom belongs might & majesty- said: “Say: Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) dominion” (AL-ISRAA – VERSE 111)
And if He –The Right, be He blessed- is the One and Only in the present life and in the afterworld, then He is the Only One and without partner- who has the usefulness and the harm, and in this He said: “Say: will ye worship, besides Allah, something which hath no power either to harm or benefit you?” (AL-MAAIEDAH – VERSE 76)
And He –to whom belongs might and majesty- said: “Say: who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? Or who is it that has power over hearing and sight?” (YUNUS – VERSE 31)
God, the Lord –be He blessed- said: “and worship others than Allah, - such as have no power of providing them, for sustenance” (AL-NAHIL – VERSE 73)
And He –to whom belongs might & majesty- said: “say: who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His will is to give you some loss” (AL-FATH – VERSE 11)
And He –to whom belongs might & majesty- said: “They have neither the power to remove your troubles from you nor to change them” (AL-ISRAAA – VERSE 56)
And He said (His saying is the right): “That have no control of hurt or good to themselves; nor can they control Death nor Life nor Resurrection” (AL-FURQAAN – VERSE 3)
And if we did really understand all these, then we should turn to Him (God) only to ask Him for every thing, (to pray for Him only), because if we pray for other, then it means to pray for some one else who doesn’t have hurt or good to do, but all the ways (means) that man is resorts to achieve his purposes and benefits like bribe, mediation and others are all reasons by God’s will only.
And we have to understand well that reasons don’t achieve what God doesn’t want it to be achieved, and if by chance a benefit was achieved by one of these ways, then it means that it was achieved because of God’s will and He wanted it to be achieved, because God’s will is making the reasons, but these reasons don’t have the ability to effect on the will or to achieve what does conflict with it.
And God – The Right, be He blessed- is encouraging (urging) us to ask Him only by praying to him only without partner and to trust that every thing is from Him only; that He –be He blessed- said: “Say: ‘O Allah! Lord of power (and rule), Thou strippest off power from whom Thou pleasest: Thou enduest with honour whom Thou pleasest, and Thou bringest low whom Thou pleasest: in Thy hand is all good, verily, over all things Thou hast power” (AALI-IMRAAN – VERSE 26)
And the prophet Sulaiman –peace be upon him- realized this truth (reality), so he prayed and asked Allah only to give (grant) him a domination which will not belong to another after him (Sulaiman, peace be upon him) then God –The Right, be He blessed- answered Sulaiman’s request and he subjected the world’s elements for him, and in this He –be He blessed- said: “He said, ‘O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which will not belong to another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure) (35) then we subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, whither so ever he willed (36) as also the Satan’s, (including) every kind of builder and diver (37) as also others bound together in fetters (38) such are Our Bounties; whether thou bestow them (on others) or with hold them no account will be asked (39) and he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (final) return (40)” (SAAD – VERSES FROM 35 – TO 40) God –be He blessed- is The Only One, the absolute master in His domination, who can change His people’s conditions (states), and manage it, as He wants. And it is a religious obligation that every Muslim has to admit and confess for Allah’s –be He blessed- domination in the present life and afterworld and His autocracy of this domination. And we can see that our great prophet Mohammed –Peace be upon him- complied with this obligation; that he –peace be upon him- always used to say in the morning and evening: “We became and the domination became for God” and in the morning used to say: “We grew (got up in the morning) and the domination became for God” And he used to say: “Thank you God, there is no god but God (Allah), He doesn’t have a partner, the domination is for Him only, and He is the omnipotent, the All powerful, O God! I am asking you the good of this night and of its goodness, and to protect me from the bad of this night and of its badness, and to protect me from laziness, grief, illness of the old age and from the trial life’s seduction and from the grave’s torture”
And the lord of people who will leave everything except Allah, and this is the degree of the prophets –peace be upon them-
One follower (wishful) asked his leader: “advise me,” the leader said: “be a lord in the present life and a lord in the afterworld, because domination is an freedom and dispensing.
